Wedding faq's

How far do you travel for weddings? As far as you need me to!

Is there an additional charge if my wedding is outside your range? Yes

Do you offer a CD of digital negatives in any of your packages?  No, instead I do an online gallery where you can download the digitals files and order professional prints and products.

Does it cost extra to have the images edited?  No

Do you offer professional retouching services of blemishes? Yes

Do you offer albums/prints in any of your packages? Yes

What can I expect to spend on my wedding package?  $1500-$4000

What if my family/friends would like to order the images online? Is there a website they go to?  All of my clients receive a gallery link to all of their wedding images 8-12 weeks after the wedding.  This link can also be shared with family and friends if they would like to order prints and products.

What is the first look?  The first look is when they bride and groom see each other before the wedding and spend a few quiet moments together before the ceremony begins.

Do you make all your couples have the first look, or is it optional?  Absolutely not.  I encourage my couples to do what THEY want and what makes them feel most comfortable. 

How much time is typically needed to shoot a wedding?  On average 6-8 hours, though I have captured smaller, more intimate weddings that lasted 4 hours or less.  Some weddings take longer and require 10 hours.

Will you come for the rehearsal dinner? Only if it's a destination wedding where I'm traveling out of Virginia and North Carolina. 

How many photographers come with you on the wedding day?  Two!  Myself and a second shooter!

Do you bring any assistants?  Yes, always!

Do you have backup equipment? Absolutely!  I am a stickler for having backup equipment in case anything should happen.  Always be prepared!

What do you wear to your weddings?  Typically leggings and a simple dress.  I need to be able to move around and capture everything so I like to keep it simple.

Will my images be posted on social networking sites?  Only if you have approved me to do so.

Is an engagement session included in any of your packages?  Oh yes!  I do this because the engagement session is the PERFECT time for us to really get comfortable with each other!

If I don’t want something in a package, can you remove it from the package? If none of the packages completely suit your needs, we can build a package from scratch.

What forms of payment do you accept? check, card, and cash.

How much is the deposit?  50% of the wedding total.

When is the remaining amount due for the wedding? 2 weeks before the wedding.  An invoice will be sent via email to notify you of the remaining balance.

Do you offer a “pay in full” discount? No.

Do you offer a military discount? No.

Do you offer a Friday/Sunday wedding day discount? No.

Do you offer payment plan options? Yes.

If we would like to have several locations for the bride/groom and bridal party photos, do you charge for each additional location on the wedding day? No.

Do I have to use the wedding time coverage consecutively?  Yes.

How far in advance do I need to book?  6 months to a year is preferred, although I book last minute weddings as well sometimes.

Can we meet before I book? Absolutely!

How would you describe your wedding shooting style?  My style is a cross between fine art and photojournalism.  

How long have you been shooting weddings, and how many per year?  8 years and now I typically shoot 10-20 weddings per year.

Do you use flash for any of your photography?  Only for the reception and other artistic shots.  

Are you a member of any professional photographer organizations? Yes, I am a member of PPA(Professional Photographers of America)

What happens if my wedding gets canceled or I need to change the date after I’ve booked?  Any payment made towards the wedding is non-refundable.  If you decide to change your date I will give you a list of dates that I have available for you to choose from.

Do you offer annual anniversary sessions? I love to shoot anniversary sessions but it's not included in my packages.

Do you typically shoot for the whole wedding day? I shoot for the length of time I am hired for.

Do you work with any specific vendors? No, but there are many vendors I can recommend to you that I’ve worked with before!

Can you hold my date without a deposit? No.

How long does it take to receive my photos after my wedding? About 8-12 weeks

How many photos should I expect from my wedding day? I typically deliver 40-50 images per hour.

Do you offer videography? No, but I have a few I can recommend!!

Do you offer slideshow presentations at the reception? No

Do you offer live photo booths? No

Do you offer save the date/thank you cards? Yes!

What happens if you get sick on my wedding day?  I take a lot of medicine and show up ready to go!  I try to take very good care of myself, especially during wedding season to ensure that nothing slows me down.  However, if something true terrible should happen and keep me from capturing your wedding, I ALWAYS have a backup plan in place!

How many events do you typically shoot on a wedding day?  Only one.  I am very strict about this.  I want to give my couples my undivided attention.

What will you do if something happens to my wedding photos? While I have myself fully covered to make sure NOTHING ever happens to your images, there is still the possibility that something could.  If I were to lose all or part of a wedding, a payment arrangement would be made.  This is further listed out in my contract.
